All About Camp!

English Immersion Camp Introduction:

-"I'm going to be so sad when we leave!"
-"Yeah, I'm having such a good time, even though I hadn't expected so!"
Conversations like this can be heard all over the camp, as well as giggles and cackles, which show that everyone's having a great time. This is the three-day English Immersion Camp, which doesn't fail at surprising us with all of those activities the counselors have come up with. Ever since we arrived, we haven't stopped doing activities, and despite it can be pretty tiring, I don't think anyone regrets coming. In fact, excitement glimmers in everyone's eyes and their faces flash with smiles every now and then. All in all, I'm pretty sure this camp will be a great experience, not only for the fact that our English will be enriched by it, but because of the fact that we are enjoying ourselves until no end!

CARCARAES:

Carcaraes is a beautiful place, where with lots of trees and nature. this place is enormous and the hotel is really comfortable. in this place, we played lots of games and had a really good time!

GAMES:

Playing at the Camp:

During our camp we played several games. all of them were really creative and original, but there were some in special considered as the favourite ones.
One of them was the chair one. There was just one person stood up who had to say something about himself. For ex. "I love chocolate". So all the people who agreed with him had to leave their chars and look for another one. As there were not enough chairs for everyone there would always be someone stood up. It was a great game because we had the chance to know a little more about each other.
Another game that most of us loved was "Capture the Flag", as well as the "Gold Rush".
We did other very creative activities, such as making a play, painting and cooking. We also had to design a miner machine, so we can say we definitely used our imagination!
In my opinion, the game were just great! We had lots of fun and met other people while playing, so they were just amazing!

FOODS:
Day 1
Lunch: We ate fried chicken. It is a typical meal from the southern United States. Then for dessert we ate pears with custard.
Dinner: We ate Shepherd's Pie. It is a typical meal from Ireland. It's very simiar to a famous dish from Argentina calle "Pastel de Papa". And for dessert we had a bread pie.
Then we had a campfire and we ate the typical snack you would eat at a camp: SMORES!
Day 2
Breakfast: We had hot chocolate and coffee and then we all had pancakes with maple syrup. That is specialty from Canada.
Lunch: We had stuffed potatoes from Ireland and for dessert we had fruit salad. It was yummy!
Dinner: We had chili with meat and for dessert cheesecake. The meal was very good.

CAMPFIRE:

It was 10 o'clock in the middle of the woods. Cold, clear, open skied night. The fire was already burning. We all gathered around it as if we were about to catch our prey. Bobby introduced the topic as usual: singing campfire songs. Their rhythms are different form ours but their melodies are rather the same: their aim is to create a nice and warm environment.
Dancing, singing, jumping and moving around, we all warmed up really fast! Megan and Ross doing "The Chicken Dance"- awesome! Walking around the fire dancing "Singing in the Rain. Bobby's attempts to put on a choir show-OK, let's just scream! Julie just saying the craziest things you can do to bananas!-OK. And eating s'mores was the cherry on the cake!
As a whole, a perfect ending for a perfect day!

FUNNY MOMENTS:

-While we were on the bus we were playing a game in which another person writes in a paper the name of someone famous and give it to another one. This one must not see which the character is so he had to guess it. While we were playing a girl, Agustina, had Christopher Columbus as her character so another girl told her, trying just to give her a clue, that if she goes to any country everybody would know Christopher Columbus. the funny thing was that she told who the character was, at that time all the girls started to laugh.
-We were playing dodge ball inside a place that was surrounded by a plastic. Suddenly a boy, called Gonzalo, threw the ball very hard, and it broke the plastic.
-A group of girls were singing Barbara Streisand, so Matthew heard them and said that he really hate that song. He said there was a website in which you could introduce your name and the song will mention it. -"Matthew Collins, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh!!!!!"
-We were playing a game called "The Wagon Race", and when it started Ross' team fell because the "horses" (2 people) started to run really fast. They were the fast ones that fell. After made just a few meters.
